"The Year of Finer Margins"
2025 has been both rewarding and eventful for investors. Resilient global growth, strong corporate fundamentals, and enthusiasm for artificial intelligence have helped drive equity markets higher.
JBWere, a leading provider of investment management and philanthropic impact services amongst private clients and in the for-purpose sector, is delighted to announce the appointment of Anne Rodda as Manager, Philanthropic Services for JBWere New Zealand.
In this newly-created role, Anne will manage the workflow of the Philanthropic Services team and work with private, families and for-purpose clients to support their governance, impact strategy, and the long-term stewardship of philanthropic wealth.
Her focus will be families and other for-purpose clients, supporting their governance, impact strategy, fundraising and other key operational challenges, as well as long-term stewardship of designated funds and philanthropic wealth.
Anne has a wealth of senior leadership, governance and strategic, communications and complex stakeholder management expertise, specifically in the for-purpose sector. She has led a variety of arts and educational institutions, programmes and major events. Anne brings nearly 30 years of executive management experience since migrating to Aotearoa New Zealand from the USA which has seen her lead the Auckland Philharmonia, Auckland Writers Festival, Kiwibank’s New Zealander of the Year, the Cognition Education Trust and, since its inception, the (Michael) Hill Family Foundation for Arts and Music that presents the world-renowned Michael Hill International Violin Competition. She has been the Programme Manager for Dilworth’s Response to its historical abuse for the last few years.

Reflecting on her appointment, Anne said:
“I have always respected and been drawn to JBWere’s demonstratable commitment to support Aotearoa New Zealand’s for-purpose sector. I know, all too well, that leaders of organisations and institutions are too time poor and heads down to undertake the depth of research and evidence based philanthropic and for-purpose insights that JBWere provides. I am thrilled to contribute to JBWere’s advisory legacy and to have the rare opportunity to work alongside a values-led and capable team to support the organisations and individual families looking to impactfully focus their wealth and therefore the overall health of New Zealand’s for-purpose sector”
Craig Patrick, CEO of JBWere New Zealand, said:
“We are delighted that Anne is permanently joining our Philanthropic team. She is well-known and respected for her for-purpose fluency and her philanthropic insights and experience. Her appointment rounds out our ability to deliver high-trust, strategic advice to clients committed to long-term impact.”
This appointment builds on the continued growth of JBWere’s Philanthropic Services platform and the work of John Morrow, Head of Philanthropic Services, who has led the firm’s offering in New Zealand since 2020. The New Zealand based team includes three senior advisors and a dedicated research capability, delivering sector-leading support to for-purpose and private clients in governance, impact strategy, capital deployment, and long-term stewardship of designated funds and philanthropic wealth.
The role also collaborates with JBWere Australia’s Philanthropic Services Team, and with colleagues across the FirstCape Group, extending insights and influence for clients committed to lasting, positive change.
