Based in the Gisborne office, Matthew provides investment advice to private clients, family trusts, charitable organisations, and Māori entities.
Matthew has over 25 years’ experience in financial services and investment markets. He began his career with Craigs Investment Partners in 1996, before spending 17 years with ANZ Private, where he managed the wealth of high-net-worth clients. He joined Jarden (now JBWere) in February 2024.
He is passionate about working closely with clients to understand their objectives and build long-term, trusted relationships. Matthew believes the most rewarding aspect of his role is seeing clients achieve their long-term financial outcomes and the confidence this brings.
In addition to his professional role, Matthew is actively involved in the local community. He serves in governance roles as a parent representative on the Campion College Board of Trustees and as an Executive Committee member of the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce.
Matthew is a registered Authorised Financial Adviser and NZX Accredited Adviser. He holds a National Certificate in Financial Services and is currently studying towards a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, endorsed in Personal Financial Planning.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys surfing, making the most of the East Coast of Gisborne’s renowned surf breaks. He also enjoys spending time with his family and working on his collection of classic cars
