Kate Skeggs

Kate works alongside Anna Boland to deliver strategic investment advice and portfolio management to individuals, corporates, family trusts and community organisations in the Queenstown, Wanaka, Central Otago, Invercargill and Southland regions. They also work alongside Immigration Advisers to assist Migrants with their Active Investor Plus and Parent Retirement Investment Portfolios and familiarising them with the local community. Kate has expertise in risk profiling, asset allocation, fixed income investments and equity strategy and enjoys working closely with clients to achieve their investment goals.
Having grown up in Queenstown, Kate has been a part of the local business community for many years. Prior to joining the Queenstown team in 2022, Kate had an extensive 18-year career in banking with Bank of New Zealand, across commercial relationship management, international trade, working capital and credit risk. Kate holds governance roles outside of JB Were NZ and is currently on the Board of the Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust, which is focused on providing affordable accommodation.
Kate is also on the Governance Committee of Impact100 Wakatipu, which exists to empower women to award large grants in the community. Kate previously served 7 years on the Board of Invest South, a Southland based Private Equity firm funded by Community Trust South. Kate holds Commerce and Science degrees from the University of Otago, is a member of the Institute of Directors and is a Registered Financial Adviser (NZX accredited).
Outside of the office, Kate, along with her husband and children, enjoy the great outdoors of Queenstown as much as possible.
