Jon joined the Jarden (now JBWere) Christchurch office in early 2025, following several years in commercial lending with Heartland Bank. Moving into investment advice and portfolio management was a long-held ambition and exciting progression. He now provides tailored investment advisory and portfolio management services to individuals, families, trusts, companies, and community organisations.
After completing a BA at the University of Canterbury, Jon pursued a professional rugby career both in New Zealand and overseas, including being part of several successful All Blacks test series and tours. Following his retirement from rugby and prior to entering the finance industry, he owned and managed a national transport-focused import/export, manufacturing, and wholesale business, and also spent time in professional coaching. His broad commercial background, combined with extensive exposure to financial markets, brings a valuable and well-rounded perspective to his advisory work.
Outside the office, Jon remains active and enjoys both road and mountain biking for fitness and fun. He takes every opportunity to spend quality time with his family, making the most of the stunning outdoor environments of Canterbury and Central Otago.
