Jon Preston
Wealth Management Associate Adviser
Jon joined the Jarden (now JBWere) Christchurch office at the beginning of 2025 after several years in commercial lending with Heartland Bank. The opportunity to move into investment advice and management was a natural and exciting progression. Alongside Stuart Roberts, Jon assists with investment advisory and portfolio management services to individuals, families, trusts, companies and community organisations.
After completing his BA at Canterbury University Jon embarked on a professional rugby career in New Zealand and overseas. During this time he was part of several successful All Blacks test series and tours. Once retired and before entering the finance industry he spent time as a professional coach in super rugby and owned and managed a prominent Christchurch based import/export, manufacturing and wholesale business for several years.
Outside work Jon has remained active and loves to road and MTB ride for fitness and pleasure. He takes every opportunity to enjoy his family and particularly time with them in the beautiful outdoors of Canterbury and Central Otago.
