Grant Mason

Grant Mason is Head of Wealth Solutions for the wealth management business of FirstCape, where he leads business strategy and partnerships, and the design and delivery of the firm’s wealth management capabilities and solutions. He joined JBWere in 2019 as Head of Wealth Management after returning to New Zealand.

Prior to joining JBWere, Grant spent 11 years at BlackRock in London and Hong Kong, holding senior roles across institutional business and strategic product management. He began his career at PwC and UBS Investment Bank. With deep expertise across financial services, investment, and governance, Grant is passionate about enabling investors to grow and protect their wealth through well-structured, client-focused solutions.

Grant is a member of the Financial Advice Code Committee (New Zealand’s independent standard setter for financial advice), the New Zealand Institute of Directors, and the Institute of Finance Professionals of New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (Finance, Econometrics), a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), a Master of Commerce and Administration (Economics) from Victoria University of Wellington, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, and the FT Non-Executive Director Diploma.

Outside of work, Grant enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
