The Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 came into force on 30 June 2013.

This Act brings New Zealand into line with international standards and enhances the reputation of New Zealand as a safe place to do business.

JBWere welcomes the changes brought about by the Act and has created a comprehensive compliance programme that is compliant with the Act and protects our clients by detecting and deterring money laundering and financing of terrorism activity.

This has resulted in changes to our Client Application Form and the level of identification that we may request from clients from time to time to ensure we comply with our obligations under the Act.
