The Wealth Management team brings together the expertise of the JBWere and the Goldman Sachs JBWere Group to provide unbiased investment advice tailored to the individual needs of each client. Based on the information you provide, your adviser will carefully examine your investment objectives, risk profile, financial situation and particular needs, and help you develop an investment strategy that is appropriate for achieving your long-term financial goals.

Your JBWere adviser has access to advanced asset allocation and portfolio construction tools. An investment strategy for the medium to long term should consider all available asset classes. This is a prudent way to balance the risks of each investment, while maximising the potential returns. With the help of our extensive in-house research and economics team, advice is given on all asset classes including fixed interest, domestic and international equities, managed funds and listed property.

At JBWere, we specialise in providing investment advice on Australian and New Zealand equities. Our investment strategy and stock selection advice is backed by the award-winning research team at Goldman Sachs JBWere, which researches and monitors more than 200 stocks in the Australian equity market (around 95 per cent of the market's capitalisation) and over 50 New Zealand companies, and integrates with Goldman Sachs for international research.

In selecting investments we take into account trends in business and economic cycles, and we look for well-managed companies operating in attractive industries. Depending on your specific needs, we can devise a strategy that:

Investors seeking steady income streams have traditionally invested in fixed incomesecurities. To maximise the return on investment from a fixed interest portfolio investors should consider yield, capital protection, degree of liquidity and spread of maturities.

The JBWere Fixed Interest Department provides clients with access to the New Zealand and Australian fixed interest markets, offering government bonds, company debt, bank bills and other quality high-yielding investments. Working with the Strategy and Research team, the Fixed Interest Department provides investment advice for individual debt sales or purchases or will design a portfolio to achieve stated investment objectives.

Margin Lending

Margin lending is a loan facility secured by a portfolio of shares or units in managed funds. Goldman Sachs JBWere Equity Finance (NZ) Limited can provide investors with funds to use margin lending as part of their investment strategy.

Geared share investments can potentially provide investors with increased exposure to capital growth and dividends. The initial required outlay for a geared share portfolio can be much less than that for an investment property. Geared share investments may also provide investors with tax benefits through negative gearing and the receipt of imputation credits.

Goldman Sachs JBWere Equity Finance (NZ) Limited can advance, in the form of a margin loan, up to 75 per cent of the market value of more than 250 New Zealand and Australian listed equities and a selection of unlisted managed funds. Your deposit, or equity contribution, from as little as 25 percent, may be in the form of cash or Goldman Sachs JBWere Equity Finance (NZ) Limited approved securities.

Portfolio Custody

Administrating a portfolio of diverse securities can be a complex and time consuming exercise.  JBWere's tailored custody servicemanages all the administration functions of a broad range of asset classes for wealth management clients. These services include:

• Comprehensive quarterly reporting (including valuation, cashflow statements and transaction analysis)
• Settlement of transactions across all currencies
• Collection of dividends and interest, and administration of corporate actions
• The placement of all cash balances on call.

JBWere can access the Goldman Sachs JBWere Managed Investment funds - Unit Trusts that provide a wide range of investment opportunities to investors on a wholesale and retail basis.

All major research houses, including Morningstar and FundSource Research, monitor Goldman Sachs JBWere Managed Investment funds.
